Digital Transformation: phases and priorities

Transformation model conducted in a way that respects the Organization's existing Management and Innovation Models, as well as preparing Senior Leadership to acquire new skills and behaviors that accelerate the Transformation Program.
It can be thought of in a macro way, and according to the focus, in 3 phases, which can be shorter or longer according to the maturity of the management and operational excellence model existing (or not) in the organization:


    • DX 1.0 (Operational Excellence - OPEX) - Greater focus on improving processes and indicators

    • DX 2.0 (Digital Ecosystem) – Greater focus on structuring an internal digital development area and/or partnering with third parties through IT

    • DX 3.0 (Business Model) – greater focus on extending the transformation to suppliers, customers, employees, sales channels and digital products / services to be offered.

Involving senior leadership while carrying out the projects and incorporating digital solutions into the organization's daily routine, transforming the business and the culture, is a fundamental part of the whole process, since new skills and behaviors will be needed to guarantee the implementation and maintenance of the transformation.  

Digitization metrics can be incorporated throughout the process to demonstrate the tactical evolution of the Program, but the success of the journey, at the end of the day, will be defined mainly by its impact on traditional market indicators such as the number of New Customers, Revenue, Margin, Speed of Service, Customer Satisfaction, Market Value, etc .

Forming a digital ecosystem (internal and external) and how to govern and finance it will be a major challenge to be defined by senior management and shareholders.

And finally, understanding how the digital transformation will affect the market and the company's competitiveness, because there seems to be no doubt that we will all be impacted by the countless possibilities that new technologies bring.
